A HK version of Jockey Club Innovation Tower (OMG!)

Last month, I visited The Jockey Club Innovation Tower in Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  I was so existed before I visit it.  There is not much creative and irregular building in Hong Kong.

When I stepped into the tower, I was disappointed.  Seems I visited similar building in the HK summer trip!  The concept of the interior design is definitely same as the Guangzhou Opera House!  OMG!  The interior of the Innovation Tower is totally white.  There are lots curve shapes and they make same mistake as the Guangzhou Opera House.  The workmanship is poor.  The corner and joinery are slightly better than Guangzhou Opera House.  They are very close anyway...

I walked around the whole building.  Everywhere is pure white, pure white and pure white.  It’s so boring.  I didn’t see any design.  I only see pure white walls around me.  There were around 30 floor levels.  Seems everywhere looks the same and I was getting lost.  For those areas without windows, they look like hospital with a bit terrible.

There are still advantages of the design.  I appreciate the staircase at the void area.  They are irregular staircases.  Some staircase pass one floor, some pass two floors and some pass half floor.  It makes me lose, but I love to lose under the sunshine  (There was sunshine through the ceiling glaze) and the void area can see different floors of the building.  Feel so funny.

This building is occupied by students from design department of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  I look forward the university to hold a competition to decorate the interior of the tower to show the unique character and innovative of students.
